Łódź Arena still with ATLAS

On 29 September 2014 during press conference at the City Arena of Culture and Sport in Łódź the results of the contest for the object sponsor were announced. It was won by ATLAS, the biggest Polish manufacturer of construction chemicals.

Our company has been the arena sponsor since August 2009. In July, in relation to the forthcoming contract expiration date, City Arena of Culture and Sport announced the contest for the name lessee. In the final, after the offers selection, two companies, including ATLAS, last and with them the city company representatives continued negotiations.

The new contract, signed on 29 September, expires at the end of December 2019. The sponsorship figure is confidential, but it is higher than the previous one, which has been transferred by ATLAS for the object name lease.

– Inmodestly speaking, Atlas Arena is the best sport and entertainment arena in Poland – says Krzysztof Maciaszczyk, President of the City Arena of Culture and Sport – Here the best concerts are held, here are the best fans and here we can live the biggest sport joy. Atlas Arena is the one, where our volleyball team started its path to gold medal by winning with World Champions and Olympic Champions just in two days. The name Atlas Arena is permanently remembered by fans of music and sport. What is the most important, it has been accepted by them and is commonly used. It is not always successful.

– Atlas Arena is not only one of the most characteristic buildings in our city, but also one of the most recognised sites in Poland when sport, entertainment and cultural events considered – says Jacek Michalak, ATLAS Group Vice – President of the Board for Development – We are happy that our offer has been found the best and has won the contest. In just a few days, at Atlas Arena, the next edition of the International Festival of Comics and Games, sponsored by us, is to be held.

– This situation is mutually beneficial. We have been pleased with the previous cooperation and we are happy it is prolonged, especially that the contract fee is higher than the previous one – adds President Maciaszczyk.

For the last 5 years over 300 events, including 95 concerts and music events, 151 sport events and 58 other cultural and fair events, have been held at Atlas Arena. During that time Łódź arena has been visited by more than 2,270,000 guests from Poland and abroad. Numerous awards confirm Atlas Arena being a world scale object, e.g. statuette for the best investment of the year received at the Business Gala,  Energy of Culture award for the concerts of Depeche Mode and Sting and Sport Business Award DEMES  for the best sport arena 2013. Atlas Arena is ranked 6th by the prestigious “Audience” magazine listing the best European sport and entertainment arenas (Łódź arena is the only Polish object of this type in the ranking).

Company ATLAS is engaged in various regional projects related to sport, culture and art. Since December 2012, it sponsors tennis player from Łódź, Jerzy Janowicz and event Atlas Jerzyk Cup organised by him. It also supports ecological oratorical contest Eko-Klekot, Łódź Comics Center, International Festival of Comics and Games as well as project Storks from Łask (Łaskie Bociany). Atlas is also the general sponsor of this year 10th Aleksandr Tansman International Festival of Music Individualities, which will be held on 14 – 23 November. In Łódź acts “Atlas of Art”, the best private art gallery in Poland according to “Polityka” weekly.
