ATLAS of ART started up its activity on 10 October 2003 with with an exhibition of Roman Opałka’s paintings. Its originator and founder was Andrzej Walczak, one of ATLAS GROUP co-owners. The gallery is located in historic and restored building at 114/116 Piotrkowska, Łodź (in the backyard). In a few years ATLAS of ART earned itself a name of one of the most interesting exhibition points in Poland, several times awarded with the first place among the Polish private galleries in the ranking of “Polityka” weekly. The gallery has exhibited outstanding Polish and international contemporary artists. Many exhibitions organised by ATLAS of ART were later shown in other galleries in Poland and abroad. The gallery engages in various cultural enterprises and conducts educational classes for children.
Since December 2006, ATLAS of ART holds the status of the public benefit organisation.
