Economic aspects

ATLAS odpowiedzialny pracodawca

The idea of sustainable development is carried at many levels – actually in all branches of industry, with particularly hard job to be done in the construction branch. The needs of construction use approximately 40% of general energy consumption, including energy necessary for an object building and its further operation. Approximately 80% of this energy is consumed only for rooms heating.

In Poland financial investments and expenditures on maintenance and operation of buildings are higher than in other European countries of similar climate. The crucial reason of this situation is excessive loss of heat through particular building partitions. That is why ATLAS emphasizes promotion and distribution of technological solutions enabling energy savings. In the company portfolio one can find comprehensive external wall thermal insulation systems with the use of EPS, XPS and mineral wool boards, and ceilings insulation.

ATLAS is the biggest manufacturer of thermal insulation systems in Poland. With the use of all ATLAS thermal insulation systems, only in Poland, over 130 million square metres of external walls have been insulated (estimated data based on the sale of adhesives for EWI within the last 26 years).

The next aspect of ATLAS commitment to the fulfilment of sustainable development is high quality and durability of the marketed construction materials. The cost of a building maintenance and operation depends mainly on the need of refurbishment and repairs. ATLAS products, characterised by long – time durability, enable cuts on this cost, simultaneously contributing to minimalization of construction wastes volumes.

Materials manufactured by ATLAS can be included in the multi – criteria building evaluation, carried with commercial evaluation systems, incl. BREEAM, LEED or DGNB. Evaluation and assessment of buildings is carried in order to optimise technical, operational and economic solutions chosen for an object as a whole, for its particular elements, equipment and even location. These actions aim to limit energy intensity and reach relatively low cost of operation.
