QUICK-DRYING EMULSION FOR PRIMING AND STRENGTHENING SUBSTRATES BEFORE APPLICATION OF ADHESIVE, FINISHING COAT, PLASTER, FLOOR, PAINT
FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE
| ATLAS UNI-GRUNT is designed for priming and strengthening all absorbent, excessively absorptive and weakened substrates of concrete, aerated concrete, cement slabs, plasterboard panels, gypsum plaster, cement plaster, cement-lime plaster, and rough surfaces made of bricks, blocks, hollow bricks and other similar ceramic or lime-sand materials. The emulsion is perfectly prepares the substrate for ceramic or stone tiles, plaster, subfloors, finishing coats, wallpapers, etc. ATLAS UNI-GRUNT is also suitable for priming impregnated flaxboards and wood-based panels before ceramic tile fixing. The emulsion may also serve as a protective coat for subfloors; in this case it facilitates maintenance and prevents dust deposition. Prime plaster substrates before painting with water-soluble paints in accordance with recommendations of the paint’s manufacturer. Use ATLAS UNI-GRUNT emulsion on dry substrates. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor. |
| ATLAS UNI-GRUNT is a ready-to-use water dispersion of top-quality acrylic resin. Due to its considerable penetration ability, it penetrates well even through substrates, strengthening them and ensuring uniform parameters of the whole primed surface. The emulsion regulates the process of the absorptivity of substrate and prevents removal of excessive amount of water from layers applied on the emulsion e.g. finishing coats, tile adhesives, subfloors, etc. Therefore, ATLAS UNI-GRUNT increases mortar setting and contributes to their technical parameters, including adhesion. If applied, the emulsion makes future removal of wallpaper easier. It dries quickly. It is non-saponifiable during application. The emulsion is transparent when dry and is permeable for water vapour. It is non-flammable and can be used in rooms without windows. The primed surface (after completely dried) is resistant to temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C. |
| The substrate should be dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and wax. Remove all loose layers inappropriately adherent to the substrate before emulsion application. |
| ATLAS UNI-GRUNT is a ready-to-use emulsion. It may not be combined with other materials; it may be diluted in the ratio 1:1. |
Apply one layer of undiluted ATLAS UNI-GRUNT over the substrate with a roller or paintbrush to form a thin and even coat. On very absorptive and weak substrates, emulsion diluted with clean water in the ratio 1:1 may be applied for first priming. When the first coat dries, prime again undiluted. The surface can be used (e.g. for painting, wallpapering, tile fixing, etc.) after the emulsion dries i.e. after ca. 2 hours from application.
The information comprises basic instructions of product application and do not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations. |
| On average, 0.05÷0.2 kg of emulsion is used for 1 m2. In practice consumption depends on how absorptive the substrate is. |
