ACRYLIC PAINT, STRONG COAT, DIRT RESISTANT
FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE
| ATLAS ARKOL E is an acrylic paint designed for painting cement and cement-lime plasters, thin-layer mineral and dispersion plasters, as well as substrates made of concrete, gypsum, plasterboard and asbestos-cement panels. It is also used for painting rough surfaces made of concrete, bricks, blocks, hollow bricks and other similar ceramic or lime-sand materials. It is particularly recommended for facades of residential buildings, public utility and industrial buildings. Owing to very high covering power, ATLAS ARKOL E is suitable for first-time finish and renovation, and for protective and decorative coatings. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. |
| ATLAS ARKOL E is based on acrylic dispersion with addition of high-quality fillers and chemical agents. It has good covering properties and perfectly delivers the texture of painted surfaces. It results in a matt smooth washable finish without wrinkles or fractures. The paint is vapour permeable, and resistant to weathering, precipitation and all types of aggressive components contained in the substrate and in natural environment ATLAS ARKOL E is available in 695 colours shown in the NEW ATLAS COLOUR PALETTE. |
| The substrate should be dry, stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, fat and wax. Carefully remove old paint coatings and other layers of low adhesion to the substrate. Repair and fill small defects (e.g. cracks and cavities). Prime substrates of high absorptivity and absorbability using ATLAS UNI-GRUNT. Plaster coatings can be painted after complete drying, not earlier, however, than: - For ATLAS CERMIT SN, DR and SN-MAL mineral renders: after 4÷6 weeks; for ATLAS CERMIT N and R: after 7 weeks. |
| ATLAS ARKOL E is ready to use. Do not combine it with other materials. Before use, mix it thoroughly until homogenous. It is best to mix it mechanically using a slow-speed drill with a mixer. It is recommended to use diluted paint (add max. 0.4 l of water for 10 l paint container) for the first layer (pre-coat) on structural plasters. |
| Apply ATLAS ARKOL E on prepared and seasoned substrate in the form of a thin even layer. Use a roller or brush, or paint by spraying. Apply one or two layers depending on substrate absorptivity and structure. It is recommended to use diluted paint according to the aforementioned ratio for the first layer (pre-coat) on structural plasters. Maintain the ratio used for the whole painted surface. Apply the successive layer after the previous one completely dries (after min. 6 hours), criss-cross, maintaining the same direction of application for a given paint layer. Use undiluted paint for the final coat. Plan technological gaps in advance e.g. in corners or building angles, under rainwater pipes, etc. Apply paint continuously (with the “wet on wet” method) on the planned surface, avoiding any breaks in work. Protect the painted surface during work and when it dries from direct sunlight, wind and precipitation. The drying time depends on the substrate, temperature and relative humidity of air and is from ca. 2 to 6 hours. Note: to avoid differences in colour shades, apply paint of the same production date on one surface. Applied paint slightly smoothes substrate texture in a natural manner. In case of painting surfaces differing in respect of texture and technical parameters, different colour shades of the same paint may result. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and do not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations. |

In case of one layer, on smooth surface, on average 1 l of paint is sufficient for ca. 7 m2. In practice consumption depends on layer thickness, substrate texture and how absorptive the substrate is. Therefore, determine the consumption in a trial. For the plaster coating, consumption is as follows:
- for mineral renders ATLAS CERMIT SN, DR and SN-MAL ca. 1 l paint for 4.0 m2
- for acrylic renders ATLAS CERMIT N and R - ca. 1 l paint for 4.5 m2
- for ATLAS PLASTERING MIX - ca. 1 l paint for 7.0÷8.0 m2 |
| Roller, paintbrush or spay unit. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. |
Plaster buckets: 10 l
Pallet: 330 l in 10 l buckets |
| Store and transport in tightly closed buckets in dry conditions, ensuring positive temperature (pallets are particularly recommended). Avoid overheating. Shelf life is 12 months from the production date on the packaging. |
| ATLAS ARKOL E paint for external walls: maximum VOC content in the product: 63.73 g/l; maximum allowable VOC content: 75 g/l. Protect eyes and skin. In case of direct contact with eyes, seek medical attention. Keep out of the reach of children. |
