LEVELLING LAYER MORTAR FOR CONCRETE AND FERROCONCRETE SUBSTRATES REPAIRED IN ATLAS BETONER SYSTEM

FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE

USE
ATLAS FILER is a cement mortar designed for levelling layer making in the ATLAS BETONER concrete and ferroconcrete repair system. The mortar is the main load-bearing repair layer and plays the role of a prime coat under ATLAS ENDER finishing mortar layer or other coverings such as ceramic tiles. ATLAS FILER can also be used as the final finish of repaired surface. It is also used as the levelling or slope layer on balconies, ceilings, terraces, binding joists, columns, stairs and other concrete and ferroconcrete elements.. ATLAS FILER mortar can be used both for local and comprehensive repairs. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
PROPERTIES
ATLAS FILER is ready-to-use type of dry mix based on high-quality cements, powder resins of the latest generation, mineral fillers and modifying agents. It is convenient and easy to use. ATLAS FILER has good adhesion, elasticity and very small linear contraction. It is frost- and water-proof.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Concrete substrate should be stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough, and free from any layers that may impede mortar adhesion. In particular, remove any loose concrete layers as well as clean the substrate (concrete and elements of reinforcement) removing dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. Cover the substrate with ATLAS ADHER contact layer in accordance with its application method.
MORTAR PREPARATION
In order to prepare the mortar, pour dry mortar into a container with suitable amount of water (in proportion: 2.5÷3.25 l water for 25 kg of dry mortar) and mix until homogenous. It is best to mix it mechanically, using a drill with a mixer. The mortar is ready to use after 5 minutes and after remixing. If larger amount is necessary, stir in a concrete mixer. It maintains its properties for ca. 1 hour.
APPLICATION
Distribute ATLAS FILER mortar evenly with a float made of steel or a rule on ATLAS ADHER, using the wet-on-wet method. During mortar distribution, press it strongly to the substrate, in particular, filling defect. Depending on the application of the levelling layer, smooth its surface with a float made of steel or make it coarse using a float with a sponge. Protect the poured mass from drying too quickly, direct sunlight, low air humidity and draughts. To ensure convenient setting conditions, as needed, sprinkle the fresh surface with water or cover it with foil. Reduce heating of the room in which work is underway. The drying time of the underlayment depends on the layer thickness and also ambient thermal conditions and humidity. It is possible to begin underlayment use (walk on surfaces covered with the levelling layer) after about 24 hours, whereas any load can be placed on it after ca. 14 days. ATLAS ENDER finishing layer can be applied after 24 hours. The moment of commencement of other work depends on the type of anticipated covering and should be consistent with manufacturer’s requirements. For ceramic tiles, work should commence when rough floor parameters stabilise i.e. after ca. 2÷3 weeks and – for PVC covering or wood flooring – after the mortar completely dries. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and does not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations.
CONSUMPTION
On average ca. 20 kg of the mortar is used for 1 m2 for each 10 mm of the layer.
TOOLS
Drill with mixer or concrete mixer, trowel, rule, float made of steel. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. Clean the remainder of the set mortar that is difficult to remove with ATLAS SZOP.
PACKAGING
Paper bags: 25 kg
Pallet: 1050 kg in 25 kg bags
STORAGE & TRANSPORT
