ATLAS STOPTER K-10 is a cement adhesive for fixing foamed polystyrene boards in ATLAS and ATLAS STOPTER K-10 thermal insulation systems.
ATLAS STOPTER K-10 is a cement adhesive for fixing foamed polystyrene boards in ATLAS STOPTER K-10 thermal insulation systems.
ATLAS STOPTER K-10 can be used on typical mineral substrates such as concrete of all grades, aerated concrete, cement render, cement-lime render, sandstone, and rough surfaces made of bricks, blocks, hollow bricks and other similar ceramic or lime-sand materials. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. |
| ATLAS STOPTER K-10 is a ready-to-use dry mix of top-quality cement binder, aggregates and modifying agents. It is efficient, convenient and easy to use. It is characterised by very good workability and easy forming as well as increased adhesion, elasticity and vapour permeability. ATLAS STOPTER K-10 is frost- and water-proof. |
| The substrate should be stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, fat, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. Before work commencement, clean the substrate (water under pressure) and, if necessary, use ATLAS UNI-GRUNT to reduce substrate’s excessive absorptivity. Prime also in case of such substrates as weak cement plasters, cement plasters and walls made of cellular concrete or slag concrete hollow bricks. Fill in larger irregularities and cavities with ATLAS LEVELLING MORTAR or ATLAS PLASTERING MIX. In case of adhesion of foamed polystyrene boards on weak substrates of bearing capacity that can hardly be determined (e.g. dusty, difficult to clean), it is recommended to make an adhesion test. Adhere 10x10 cm foamed polystyrene squares (8÷10 pcs) in various places of the façade and check the bonding after 3 days. If the foamed polystyrene square tears when trying to remove it, substrate resistance can be deemed as sufficient. If the square can be removed with the mortar and substrate layer, it means that the substrate’s structural soundness is insufficient. Further actions in this case e.g. determination of the method to remove the weak layer should be described in a relevant technical project of the insulation. |
| In order to prepare the adhesive, pour the whole content of the bag into a container with suitable amount of water (in proportion: 5.0÷5.5 l water for 25 kg of dry adhesive) and mix until homogenous. It is best to mix it mechanically, using a drill with a mixer. The mortar is ready to use after 5 minutes and after remixing. It maintains its properties for ca. 3 hours. |
| Apply ATLAS STOPTER K-10 adhesive on the inside of the board using the “strip-point” method. It consists of preparation of continuous circumferential block (at least 3 cm wide) at the edge of the board and even distribution of 6÷8 patches of 8÷12 cm in diameter on the whole surface. In total, apply so much to cover at least 40% of board surface (after striking down to the substrate, min. 60%) and ensure appropriate board and wall connection. Immediately after application of the mortar on the board, fix the board to the substrate by firm pressing and press down so that mortar thickness under the board does not exceed 1 cm. In case of even and smooth substrates, the adhesive can be evenly distributed using a notched float on the whole board surface to ensure 2÷5 mm layer thickness. ATLAS STOPTER K-10 is a cement adhesive for fixing foamed polystyrene boards in ATLAS and ATLAS STOPTER K-10 thermal insulation systems. Adhesive parameters can be fully applied if it is used with other parts of the system and in accordance with its method of application. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and do not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice, method of thermal insulation work and OHS regulations. |
