CONCENTRATED FUNGICIDE FOR CLEANING AND PROTECTING STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE
Removes biological corrosion fast and effectively – organic origin tarnish, i.e. fungi, mould, lichens, algae, and moss. Effective against Basidiomycota fungi, and mould: Aspergillus Niger, Aspergillus terrus, Paecilomyces variotti, Penicillium funiculosum, Penicillium ochrochloron, Scopulariopis brevicaulis, Trichoderma viride.
Protects wooden elements from damage - biological corrosion develops in places particularly exposed to getting damp, destroying the protective surface of construction elements and exposing their structure to adverse atmospheric effects. Facades (insulated and not insulated), walls and floors on terraces, in laundries, cellars, bathrooms, etc. are particularly susceptible to infection.
Restores the aesthetic appearance of the finishing coat – biological corrosion visible in the form of black, brown or green tarnish is effectively removed, and the original appearance of the infected surface is restored.
| Types of protected substrates – the agent can be used for practically all construction substrates, especially the mineral ones, like concrete, cement and cement-lime plasters, cement jointless floors, grouts (application of the agent upon a surface different than mineral shall be preceded by a test on a fragment of the surface). |
|
 |
Penetrates the structure of mineral substrates – the liquid is able to penetrate the mineral bed to the depth of a few millimeters, and therefore destroys microorganism in various stage of development even more effectively.
It can be applied without assistance - the application of the agent does not require any special qualifications, and users can perform the cleaning themselves using painting tools, accessories for surface cleaning, and protective measures. |
 |
| Drying and protecting the substrate
During the inspection of the substrate, the sources of damp must be found and removed. If necessary, replace the flashings, troughs, roof cover, and perform new insulation of foundations, soil draining, etc. If the substrate is significantly damp, hammer off its topmost layer going at least 80 cm outside the damp area limits, clean with steel brush and leave to dry. When dry, vacuum the surface. Remove the damp from construction partitions and rooms using air driers and heaters or improving the ventilation system. Employ experts in the field for this type of work. Protect the cleaned spots against precipitation and excessive drying of the liquid that might take place in places exposed to sunlight.
Tarnish removal
Perform preliminary cleaning of the infected surface from the tarnish before the application of the fungicide. The cleaning technology (manually or mechanically – with pressure washer) must be selected on a case to case basis individually. The selection is determined by the situation of the surface and the degree of its infection. In case of very strong tarnish, mechanical removal is necessary. If the mould is light, the tarnish can be removed with water and brush and de-dusted with a vacuum cleaner. Technical details, like the jet type and pressure in case of mechanical cleaning, or the hair hardness for manual removal, must be decided upon according to the intensity of the contamination and the substrate strength. During cleaning, be prepared for loose parts of the substrate to fall off. If, for example, the plaster is weak, and its replacement is not planned, or when the cleaned surface is relatively small, e.g. in case of grouts, the tarnish can be removed manually with brushes of appropriately hard hair. The pressure washer with flat water stream jet must be used when the tarnish is removed from the facade and the plasters are strongly bound with the substrate, and there is no risk of damaging them. The maximum pressure must not exceed 150 bar. When the facade is extremely greasy, which impedes the penetration of the fungicide, use detergent to wash. In case of strong tarnish, enhance the effect of the preliminary washing using hot water. |

| ATLAS MYKOS is a concentrate. You can dilute it with clean tap water, as needed. In order to remove microorganisms, dilute ATLAS MYKOS, adding two parts of water for one part of the concentrate. In order to protect mineral surfaces, use more diluted solutions – max. in the ratio of 1:5 (one part of the concentrate for five parts of water). |
 |
| Surface decontamination
Surface decontamination with ATLAS MYKOS can be carried out when the substrate temperature and the ambient temperature is within +5 °C and +25 °C. Apply the liquid evenly with a brush, a roller, or by spraying. Due to the possibility of occurrence of mycelium in various stages of development (easy to remove vegetative mycelium and sprouting spores, and much more resistant endospores like conidium), it is recommended to apply the solution three times. Intervals of 12-24 hours must be observed between consecutive applications.
Surface protection
If the topmost layer of the substrate was hammered off, it must be recreated with appropriate mortars, e.g. ATLAS PLASTERING MIX or ATLAS TEN-10 fast setting mortar (according to the technology of their application). Painting of the surfaces treated with ATLAS MYKOS can take place not earlier than 48 hours after the application of the agent. When applied indoors, the rooms can be used after 48 hours from the application of the liquid. Silicone paints and preparations, e.g. ATLAS SILSTOP, ATLAS ARKOL N, or ATLAS FASTEL are the most suitable for painting. They will significantly limit the absorptivity of the substrate and reduce the risk of new contamination.
