SILICONE DECORATIVE RENDER
OF SPOTTED TEXTURE
FOR MANUAL APPLICATION
FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE
AGGREGATE THICKNESS:
up to 1.5 mm for ATLAS SILKON N-150,
up to 2 mm for ATLAS SILKON N-200
| ATLAS SILKON N is silicone thin-layer structural render designed for manual preparation of decorative external and internal plaster coatings. iT can be used on all even and structurally sound mineral substrates such as concrete, traditional cement plasters, cement plasters, plasterboards and reinforced layers in the following thermal insulation systems: ATLAS, ATLAS STOPTER K-10, ATLAS STOPTER, ATLAS HOTER and ATLAS ROKER W-20. It is recommended to use ATLAS SILKON N for finishing wall surfaces particularly exposed to dirt. |
| ATLAS SILKON N is ready-to-use paste-like render based on silicone resins and dolomite aggregate with grain size up to 1.5 and 2 mm. It is efficient, convenient and easy to use. When dry, it forms permanent hydrophobic plaster coatings characterised by very good adhesion to typical mineral substrates. It is non-absorbent and has the self-cleaning ability, reducing the possibility of microorganism development. Moreover, ATLAS SILKON N contains additives that reduce development of mould and fungi on render surface. The silicone render forms a porous layer characterised by very high vapour permeability, ensuring free transport of water vapour and giving up humidity through the material on which it si applied. It is also washable, resistant to weather and aggressive components of substrates and natural environment. ATLAS SILKON N is available in 655 colours shown in the NEW ATLAS COLOUR PALETTE. |
| The substrate should be stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. Remove existing paint and render coats of insufficient adhesion. Afterwards, it is recommended to use ATLAS UNI-GRUNT to reduce substrate’s excessive absorptivity. Fill in irregularities and defects using e.g. ATLAS LEVELLING MORTAR, ATLAS PLASTERING MIX or ATLAS REKORD finishing mortar. In each case, before application of ATLAS SILKON N , cover the substrate with ATLAS SILKON ANX primer. |
| ATLAS SILKON N is ready to use. It may not be combined with other materials, diluted or thickened. Immediately before application, stir it in order to achieve homogenous consistency. |
| Apply ATLAS SILKON N over prepared substrate as an even layer using a float made of stainless steel. Thickness of the layer should correspond with the aggregate grain size. Remove excess of material, place it in the bucket and mix. Form texture of the surface using a float made of plastic: in case of SILKON N – with circular moves. Open time of the mass (between mortar application and floating) depends on substrate absorptivity, ambient temperature and mass consistency. Experimentally (for a given type of substrate and given weather) determine the maximum area that can be prepared in one cycle (application and floating). Apply the mix using the “wet on wet” method, preventing one batch from drying before application of another one. Otherwise the contact spot will be visible. Anticipate the gaps in advance e.g. in corners or building edges, under rainwater pipes, etc. Protect the plastered surface during work and when it dries from direct sunlight, wind and precipitation. Drying time depends on the substrate, temperature and relative humidity of air and is from ca. 12 to 48 hours. In case of increased humidity and temperature ca. +5°C, render setting time may extend. Substrate and ambient temperature during work and when render dries should be from +5°C to +25°C. Note: to avoid differences in colour shades in case of colour silicone renders, apply render of the same production date on the same surface. If the renders are used in thermal insulation systems, avoid dark colours with reflection coefficient of scattered light below 20%. Share of the renders in such colours should not exceed 10% of façade surface. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and do not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations. |
| On average,
ca. 2.5÷2.8 kg of ATLAS SILKON N-150 is sufficient for 1 m2
ca. 3 kg of ATLAS SILKON N-200 is sufficient for 1 m2
The exact amount of mix used can be determined in a test conducted on the plastered substrate. |
| Drill with mixer or smooth floats: made of steel and plastic. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. |
Plastic buckets: 25 kg
Pallet: 400 kg in 25 kg buckets |
| Store and transport in tightly closed buckets in dry conditions, ensuring positive temperature (pallets are particularly recommended). Avoid overheating and moisture. Shelf life is 12 months from the production date on the packaging. |
| Protect eyes and skin. In case of direct contact with eyes, seek medical attention. |
