WHITE, MINERAL MORTAR FOR FINISHING WALL AND CEILING SURFACES

FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE

USE
ATLAS REKORD is a type of white mineral mortar designed for finishing of wall and ceiling surfaces filling local substrate defects. It can be used for typical mineral substrates such as concrete, cement and cement-lime plasters. ATLAS REKORD enables to achieve a smooth and appealing surface that improves room or façade standard. It is suitable for dry and wet rooms (e.g. bathrooms). It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use with maximum layer thickness of 1÷10 mm.
PROPERTIES
ATLAS REKORD is a ready-to-use dry mix based on white cement, lime, quartz and lime fillers, and new generation powder resin. It also contains special additives that make it plastic, convenient to use and characterised by good adhesion to the substrate. It contains hydrophobic compounds and special microfibres additionally strengthening plaster structure. It is frost- and water-resistant. When dry, surface made of ATLAS REKORD is white.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The substrate should be dry, stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken mortar adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. Hammer off poorly adhering elements and remove loose pieces using a steel brush. If necessary, use ATLAS UNI-GRUNT priming emulsion to reduce substrate’s excessive absorptivity.
MORTAR PREPARATION
In order to prepare the mortar, pour dry mortar into a container with suitable amount of water (in proportion: 0.28÷0.32 l water for 1 kg of dry mortar) and mix until homogenous. It is best to mix it mechanically, using a drill with a mixer. The mortar is ready to use several minutes after mixing. It maintains its properties for 2 hours. Adjust the ratio of added water experimentally, following the desired consistency of the mortar (in case of defect filling, the mortar should be thicker), type of substrate and weather. Inappropriate amount of water for mass preparation results in deterioration of strength parameters of the plaster.
APPLICATION
Apply ATLAS REKORD evenly on the substrate using a float made of steel. Smooth the applied mass as work progresses. It is recommended to fill in large defects in the substrate before finish coat preparation. The surface can be finished by light floating using a float made of felt or finish trowelling using sanding paper when dry. Open time of the mass (between mortar application and floating) depends on substrate absorptivity, ambient temperature and mortar consistency. When the mortar dries, do not expose it to draught and provide proper ventilation of rooms. Protect external surfaces from precipitation and drying too quickly (i.e. upon application and immediately afterwards). Surfaces smoothed with ATLAS REKORD can be covered with façade paints (e.g. ATLAS ARKOL S, ATLAS ARKOL N, ATLAS CERTON and ATLAS ARKOL E). Painting can commence 2÷6 weeks after plastering (depending on paint type and colour). Only with ATLAS ARKOL S silicate paint, it can begin after the plaster dries, not earlier, however, than after 48 hours. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and does not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations.
CONSUMPTION
On average 1.5 kg of the mortar is used for 1 m2 for each 1 mm of the layer.
TOOLS
Drill with mixer or float made of steel. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. Clean the remainder of the set mortar that is difficult to remove with ATLAS SZOP.
PACKAGING
Paper bags: 10 kg, 25 kg
Pallet: 1100 kg in 10 kg bags, 1050 kg in 25 kg bags
STORAGE & TRANSPORT
Store and transport in tightly closed bags, in dry conditions (pallets are particularly recommended). Keep dry. Shelf life in conditions complying with the requirements is 12 months from the date on the packaging.
CAUTION
Irritant. Contains cement. Protect skin, eyes and respiratory system. In case of contact with eyes, immediately rinse them with plenty of water and seek medical attention. In case of ingestion, immediately seek medical attention and show doctor the packaging or label.
