ATLAS ADHER

Cementitious mortar for contact layer making in the ATLAS BETONER concrete and ferroconcrete repair system; for internal and external use.

USE
ATLAS ADHER is a cement mortar designed for contact layer making in the ATLAS BETONER concrete and ferroconcrete repair system. ATLAS ADHER mortar is the element that connects the repaired concrete or ferroconcrete surface with the levelling layer of ATLAS FILER mortar finishing layer of ATLAS ENDER mortar placed directly on the former. ATLAS ADHER can be used for repairs of balconies, ceilings, terraces, binding joists, columns, stairs and other concrete and ferroconcrete elements. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
PROPERTIES
ATLAS ADHER is ready-to-use type of dry mix based on high-quality cements, powder resins of the latest generation, mineral fillers and modifying agents. It is easy and convenient in use; it is easily applied on the substrate, accurately covering surfaces to be repaired. It increases adhesion of successively applied layers to concrete and steel. ATLAS ADHER main features are high elasticity and very small linear contraction. It is frost- and water-proof.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Concrete substrate should be stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough (stripping strength: at least 1.5 MPa); it should be free from anything that may weaken mortar adhesion. Remove any loose concrete layers as well as dust, dirt, lime, oil, fat, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. Concrete substrate that are damaged, dirty, or chemically or biologically corroded should first undergo special treatment such as shot blasting, milling, mould removal etc. Clean exposed elements of reinforcement e.g. by sanding, removing rust and any other dirt up to SA 2 degree of purity. Moreover, hammer off concrete around bars whose surface is completely or mostly uncovered so that the new covering made of ATLAS FILER mortar is at least 1.5 cm thick. Then reinforcement can be covered with specialist paint coats containing corrosion inhibitors. Just before application of ATLAS ADHER mortar, slightly wet the substrate with water. Do not leave pools!
MORTAR PREPARATION
In order to prepare the mortar, pour dry mortar into a container with suitable amount of water (in proportion: 0.32÷0.35 l water for 1 kg of dry mortar) and mix until homogenous. It is best to mix it mechanically, using a drill with a mixer. The mortar is ready to use after 5 minutes and after remixing. It maintains its properties for ca. 2 hours.
APPLICATION
Distribute ATLAS ADHER mortar evenly on the substrate, rubbing in with a brush or paintbrush, going slightly beyond the area of repaired surface. Select the size of covered surface so that the next layer made of ATLAS FILER or ATLAS ENDER can be applied on the contact layer using the “wet on wet” method. However, if the contact layer dries before application of the next mortar, prepare it again. During work and immediately afterwards protect the surface from precipitation and drying too quickly. The drying time of the contact layer depends on the substrate absorptivity and ambient thermal conditions and humidity. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and does not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations.
CONSUMPTION
On average ca. 1.2 kg of the mortar is used for 1 m2 for each 1 mm of the layer.
TOOLS
Drill with mixer, float made of steel or wide paintbrush. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. Clean the remainder of the set mortar that is difficult to remove with ATLAS SZOP.
PACKAGING
Paper bags: 5 kg, 25 kg

Pallet: 1100 kg in 5 kg bags, 1050 kg in 25 kg bags

STORAGE & TRANSPORT
