USE

ATLAS CONSTRUCTION EMULSION is an agent that improves quality of concrete and mortars. It significantly improves plasticity and fluidity of concrete mixes, and cement and cement-lime mortars. Applied as an addition to concrete, the emulsion allows to achieve increased initial and final strength, using a smaller amount of make-up water; increased (particularly initial) build-up of compressive and flexural strengths; decreased concrete’s contraction and decreased tendency to crack; better adhesion of the new concrete to the existing concrete. It facilitates, speeds up and lowers the cost of placing the concrete owing to faster rotation of forms and boarding; reduced costs of steam curing of concrete; improved pumping properties of the mix; less waste in the case of sprayed concrete; possibility of applying cement of inferior quality or cement of varying quality; smaller consumption of cement, while maintaining constant quality; and better concrete workability. The improved workability of concrete ensures strong plasticisation without the risk of segregation, reduced electric energy consumption for the process of concrete consolidation, smooth surfaces after boarding removal and reduced upward flow of light aggregates in the case of liquid mixes. ATLAS CONSTRUCTION EMULSION improves resistance to chemical corrosion, abrasion resistance and makes the concrete frost- and water-tight. Used as an additive to cement and cement-lime mortars, the emulsion improves their adhesion, makes floating easier, reduces the risk of cracks and scratches, and improves workability. It facilitates spreading of pigment in concrete mixes in colour concrete manufacture.

PROPERTIES

The emulsion has strong plasticising properties. It is absorbed on the surface of the binder and fine filler where it creates a layer decreasing the internal friction in the mix. In addition, ATLAS CONSTRUCTION EMULSION is a strong dispersing agent ensuring better distribution of binder grains and better utilisation of the binder. It provides thixotropic properties and improves cohesiveness of fresh mixes, in consequence ensuring significant resistance to segregation, even in case of liquid consistency.

APPLICATION

The emulsion is applied in the ratio of 0.5 to 2.5% of cement’s weight, depending on the required effect. If the ratio of the emulsion amounts to: 0.5÷1.0% of cement weight - strong plasticisation is achieved 0.8÷1.5% of cement weight or more - increased strength is achieved, in particular initial strength and the amount of make-up water is decreased by up to 30% 2.0÷2.5% of cement weight - improved consistency and significant increase of strength can be achieved ATLAS CONSTRUCTION EMULSION can be added directly to the mix at the end of mixing or to make-up water. Do not apply the emulsion with other additives without prior tests or manufacturer’s instructions.

PACKAGING

Plastic containers: 5 kg, 1 kg Pallet: 600 kg in 5 kg containers, 432 kg in 1 kg containers

STORAGE & TRANSPORT

Transport and keep the emulsion dry in tightly closed original packaging, in temperatures above 0°C. Avoid overheating. Shelf life is 24 months from the production date on the packaging.
