USE

ATLAS SILKAT ASX is a priming mass used for substrate preparation under ATLAS SILKAT N and R thin-layer silicate renders. It can be used on all even and structurally sound mineral substrates such as concrete, traditional cement plasters, cement plasters, plasterboard panels and reinforced layers in the following thermal insulation systems: ATLAS, ATLAS STOPTER K-10, ATLAS STOPTER, ATLAS ROTER and ATLAS HOTER. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

PROPERTIES

ATLAS SILKAT ASX is a ready-to-use priming mass based on water glass and quartz flours. It is a white priming agent. It is efficient, very convenient and easy to use. Aggregate content enhances surface coarseness, making application of successive layers easier, and increases the contact area of the render with the substrate. Application of ATLAS SILKAT ASX improves adhesion and prevents appearance stains on the thin-layer render resulting from inappropriate substrate preparation or its properties.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate should be stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, fat, wax. Remove existing paint and render coats of insufficient adhesion. Before work commencement, prime the substrate using ATLAS ARKOL SX. Fill in irregularities and defects using e.g. ATLAS LEVELLING MORTAR or ATLAS PLASTERING MIX.

PRODUCT PREPARATION

ATLAS SILKAT ASX priming mass is ready to use. It may not be combined with other materials, diluted or thickened. Immediately before application, stir in order to achieve homogenous consistency.

APPLICATION

Distribute ATLAS SILKAT ASX on prepared substrate (evenly on the whole surface) with a roller or paintbrush. Do not apply the mass below +5°C. Begin surface plastering after the mass completely dries i.e. after ca. 4÷6 hours from its application. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and do not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations.

CONSUMPTION

On average, 0.3 kg is sufficient for 1 m2

TOOLS

Roller or paintbrush Wash the tools with clean water directly after use.

PACKAGING

Plastic buckets: 5 kg, 15 kg Pallet: 480 kg in 5 kg buckets, 495 kg in 15 kg buckets.

STORAGE & TRANSPORT

Store and transport in tightly closed buckets in dry conditions, ensuring positive temperature (pallets are particularly recommended). Avoid overheating. Do not leave open containers. Shelf life is 12 months from the production date on the packaging.

CAUTION

Protect eyes and skin. In case of direct contact with eyes, seek medical attention.
