ELASTIC, WATER-RESISTANT CEMENT MORTAR FOR INSULATION LAYER OF STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL USE
| ATLAS WODER S is a water-tight mortar designed for sealing porous mineral substrates such as cellar plasters, cement-lime plasters, rough floors, concrete and ferroconcrete elements. ATLAS WODER S is suitable for sealing cellars, foundations and water tanks - the maximum height of the column of water is 5 m. It can also be used to protect old buildings and their elements from moisture. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, on walls and floors. |
| ATLAS WODER S is a ready-to-use dry mix based on high-quality cements, powder resins of the latest generation, mineral fillers and modifying agents. It is convenient and easy to use. ATLAS WODER S is characterised by good adhesion, elasticity and very small linear contraction. It is frost- and water-proof. |
| The substrate should be dry, stable, even and structurally sound i.e. strong enough; it should be free from anything that may weaken mortar adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, fat, wax, remains of emulsion and oil paint. It is recommended that any irregularities of substrate’s surface that prevent application of the appropriate layer thickness (1÷3 mm) of ATLAS WODER S should be adjusted with ATLAS PLASTERING MIX, ATLAS 10 mortar, etc. If necessary, use ATLAS UNI-GRUNT PRIMING EMULSION to reduce substrate’s excessive absorptivity. Freshly made surfaces e.g. plaster or subfloors can be sealed after at least 14 days since they have been completed. |
| In order to prepare the mortar, pour dry mortar into a container with a suitable amount of water (in proportion: 0.25 l water for 1 kg of dry mortar when applying with a float or 0.35 l of water for 1 kg of dry mortar when applying with a brush) and mix until homogenous. It is best to mix it mechanically, using a drill with a mixer. The mortar is ready to use immediately after mixing. It maintains its properties for ca. 2 hours. |
| Apply ATLAS WODER S on sealed surface in at least two layers. The first layer should always be applied with a paintbrush and the subsequent layers should be applied with a paintbrush or a float made of steel. The second layer can be applied when the first one is set, but is still wet. Protect the resulting coat (after ca. 2 -3 days) from mechanical damage by applying plaster, subfloor or facing. Protect sealed surfaces for ca. 3 days from water under pressure. ATLAS WODER S is designed for surface sealing; however, in case of sealing room corners, edges of wall and rough floor joints, passages of system pipes, and expansion joints, ATLAS WODER E is recommended. The information comprises basic instructions of product application and do not relieve users of responsibility for work in accordance with good construction practice and OHS regulations. |
Total layer thickness should be selected appropriate to the conditions of water effect on the sealed surface.
| Conditions of application | Layer thickness | Coverage |
| dampness | 1.5 mm | ca. 2 kg/m² |
| filtering through | 2.0 mm | ca. 3 kg/m² |
| water tanks | 3.0 mm | ca. 4.5 kg/m² |
| Drill with a mixer, trowel or float made of steel or wide paintbrush. Wash the tools with clean water directly after use. Clean the remainder of the set mortar that is difficult to remove with ATLAS SZOP. |
